Over The Oxer Equestrian at Ridgeway Stables is a full service Hunter/Jumper training and showing facility. We attend “A” rated horse shows nationally and throughout the Northeast. Qualified training will help you build the confidence needed to excel.
Deanna Kravetz is an active rider and trainer in the New England hunter/jumper community. She has a long history or love and appreciation for horses, beginnning riding at the age of 4 years old. She in fact still has her family's first horses, Jamie and Sebastian, retired at ther home in Deerfield, NH. Deanna grew up with accomplished trainer Scott Noonan of Stoneridge Farm in Wrentham, MA until his retirement. Her passion for teaching was set in motion during High School while assisting trainer Dennis Munnelly with his riding program at Canton Equestrian Center. While earning her bachelor's degree in Equine Business Management from the Univerisity of New Hampshire, Deanna trained at Fieldstone Show Park where she successfully competed in the hunters, equitation and jumper rings. Upon graduation from college, Deanna had the pleasure of working both at home and ringside at shows with Olana Laffey at Evenstride Ltd, Kristen Bumpus at Arrowhead Farms and Jessica Hunt at Senator Bell Farm. After much tutelage, Deanna began Over The Oxer in 2009, offering lessons, training, boarding, summer camps and an IEA program. Over The Oxer offers full service boarding and training show program in a family friendly environment. Deanna emphasizes riding theory in her lessons, teaching students the why of riding as well as the how. Deanna's personal passions are bringing along yound horses as well as helping foster a deeper connection between horse and rider. Deanna's students have had numerous successes at NHHJA, MHC, MHJ and NEHC Finals. She is also very proud of her IEA Team's success at the Regional and National level.
Andrea Laffey has been training, teaching, and showing in New England since graduating from Mount Holyoke College in 2003, where she was active in the college’s equestrian program. Andrea teaches students from beginners to advanced, teaching at home and coaching ringside at the shows. She loves training and showing all levels of horses, and has a special love for ponies. She enjoys starting unbroke youngsters, and bringing horses along from the baby greens to the first year hunters. She has also enjoyed showing in hunter derbies, and has had many successes throughout New England. Andrea is originally from Oregon, where she grew up competing in the small, medium and large pony divisions before moving into the equitation ring. As a junior she is proud to have competed at the ASPCA Maclay finals in 1997 – the last year the event was held at Madison Square Garden. Andrea lives in Rochester, NH with her husband Scotty, and their menagerie of animals.
Associate trainer Scotty Laffey Jr. is a 2nd generation horse trainer that has been working for Over The Oxer Equestrian for several years now. Scotty holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agribusiness, earned in 2008 from Oklahoma State University. While in Oklahoma, Scotty rode with Windbreak Farms, where he showed and trained hunters and reiners and attended Congress, the world’s largest horse show. As a youth, Scotty won the IBHA World Championships. Before arriving at Over The Oxer, Scotty spent several years working for Evenstride Ltd as well as having his own operation near his al ma matter. Scotty is a USEF rated “r” judge for hunters and hunter seat equitation as well as a highly sought after clinician. Scotty oversees Over the Oxer Equestrian’s IEA Team
